Wczoraj odbyła się premiera nowej inscenizacji słynnej polskiej opery Straszny Dwór z muzyką Stanisława Moniuszki. To wielka, narodowościowa opera, skomponowana w XIX wieku, w czasach zaborów, a jej premiera odbyła się w 1865 roku. Reżyseria obecnej inscenizacji została powierzona brytyjskiemu twórcy, Davidowi Poutney’owi (w którego Wilhelmie Tellu występowałam wraz z kilkoma kolegami z pracy w czerwcu, więcej znajdziecie tutaj).

Straszny Dwór kojarzony jest również ze wspaniałym mazurem w IV akcie. To najbardziej szlachetny i najtrudniejszy polski taniec narodowy. Choreografię ułożył, po raz kolejny, Emil Wesołowski. I nie byłoby w tym wszystkim nic nadzwyczajnego, gdyby nie fakt… że mazur tak spodobał się publiczności, że niespodziewanie musieliśmy bisować!! Zanim dotarło do nas, że znów NAPRAWDĘ słyszymy muzykę, minęło kilka taktów a koleżanka nagle krzyknęła od koła! I od tego miejsca znów tańczyliśmy całego mazura! A uwierzcie mi, po pierwszym razie byłam szczęśliwa, że to już koniec i za chwilę będę mogła usiąść, taką miałam kolkę! A tu taka niespodzianka! Szok zmieszany z adrenaliną przysłonił mi całą satysfakcję, którą odczułam już po ostatecznym zejściu ze sceny! To było wspaniałe przeżycie, a po całości publiczność dała wszystkim artystom owacje na stojąco! Gratuluję wszystkim wykonawcom wspaniałej premiery!

Yesterday there was the premiere of one of the most famous polish operas, The Haunted Manor by Stanislaw Moniuszko. The Haunted Manor had its first premiere in 1865. Despite being a romance and a comedy, it has strong Polish patriotic undertones, mostly because Poland was controlled by Russian authorities during that era. The director of a new Warsaw version is David Poutney (who staged Wilhelm Tell in our theatre in June this year, where me and three of my friends were dancing Amir Hosseinpour’s choreopraphy). It is famous also because of Polish national dance, called Mazur, that is performed in 4th act. And here, Polish National Ballet is needed 🙂 The choreography was created by Emil Wesołowski, Polish famous former dancer, soloist and choreographer. Mazur is the most noble and hardest Polish national dance. And there would be nothing special about that fact, if there wasn’t a small incident during the premiere… after we have danced Mazur, the ovation was so long we were standing in the final pose for at least three minutes, people were shouting Bravo! Bis! which means one more time! in Poland. And suddenly, we heard again the accord that preludes to Mazur! By the time we realized the music is on again, few bars had already passed… our friend screamed from the circle! and we caught from there! It was unexpected encore but satisfying experience at the same time! After the whole opera the audience gave us the standing ovations! It was an amazing evening 🙂 congratulations to everyone, especially the opera singers!
